Performing Arts in Salida and Buena Vista Colorado |
Guests constantly report that while they are drawn here for the outdoor recreation they are always surprised and delighted at the bonus of a cool local arts scene. Their low-key and approachable nature belie the fact that nationally and internationally acclaimed artists call this valley home. Per capita, the number and diversity of artists is unrivaled. A year-round calendar of performance arts complements and enhances the bounty of visual arts.
Salida ArtWalk. Salida artists roll out the red carpet trumpeting their true colors and creativity at this grande dame of mountain arts fests. Leave the tuxes and gowns at home; this party is by and for art people and art lovers. Music, dance, poetry, demonstrations and more overflow the galleries. Pint-sized Picassos have their very own kids art zone. Whether you buy art directly from an artist, create your own or just soak up good art vibrations, this art party keeps folks coming back for more year after year. |
Salida Aspen Concert Series. One of the smallest classical music festivals in the state, Salida Aspen Concert Series is huge on talent and audience appeal. Featured guest artists include famed sopranos, violinists, and harpists. Acclaimed pianist Wu Han told the Denver Post, “This series is one of the treasures of the United States.” Tickets for world-class performances are available at delightfully down-home prices.
